HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS?
Balanced. There is never a reason NOT to build strength while you are getting your cardio in. We will burn calories and fat but also build a strong base a muscle while ALWAYS keeping safety and technique in mind.
WHY DO YOU RIDE?
Up until about 10 years ago, I was NOT a fan of working on my physical health. After taking my first spin class I was SHOCKED that I could do it at all. It turned out it was a modifiable and flexible workout that I could ease into and once I was hooked, I was hooked. Many things have changed in my life, but fitness became a passion and spinning has remained the constant out of all my workouts. Those 45 minutes are mine and mine alone and I leave every class stronger.
WHAT DO YOU FOCUS ON IN YOUR CLASS?
I focus on motivating my riders of every shape, size and age. ALL are welcome in my classes. I like to encourage and push my spinners. I also want to know them as people - their goals, their struggles and their personalities. They matter to me far beyond a body in the saddle.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Masters degree in the same area. I teach LOTS of classes outside of the fitness realm including public speaking and other communication courses. I have a talented and darling husband and two amazing girls. I have a strong faith and connect it to every job I do and every relationship I form. I also have a passion for REAL food and locally sourced ingredients... know what you are putting into your body.
