HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS?
I prefer to include a variety of elements…whether we mix it up with endurance, intervals, jumps, or strength work. Beat-driven, high resistance techniques are a favorite, along with tap backs! I get bored easily and enjoy switching things up to keep it interesting. The ride can get intense, so I often include reminders for good form and appropriate modifications. We all have our strong days as well as times when we need a little break, so the flexibility associated with spinning is great for everyone!
WHY DO YOU RIDE?
I was driven to improve my health once I entered the medical field as a registered nurse; that knowledge base expanded during my education and career as a nurse practitioner. I want to empower others to take care of themselves, both physically and mentally. This is especially crucial for busy individuals who know the feeling of being stretched too thin! Good health is a blessing and can be a privilege not afforded to all of us. I want to help make exercise fun and effective since we’re more likely to adopt good habits when we enjoy ourselves.
WHAT DO YOU FOCUS ON IN YOUR CLASS?
I want it to feel like we’re having a celebration! This is an opportunity to honor the amazing abilities of our bodies while working hard to improve overall health. We will focus on ourselves and our goals; I will be there to encourage you every step of the way. I will also push you and help you realize that you’re capable of great things!
I’ve lived in the Metro East since 2006. My husband and I (plus two kitties) reside in Maryville. I’ve been a nurse since 2011 and a nurse practitioner since May 2018. My education has allowed me to have a more thorough understanding of the many benefits of exercise as well as the importance of caring for ourselves. I began classes at Flow in March 2017 and learned that I loved spinning! Flow Spin is a truly wonderful, welcoming environment for beginner and advanced riders alike; I can’t imagine a better Tribe!
WORDS TO LIVE BY
Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong.
Either I will find a way, or I will make one.
